Connecting third-party applications enables Axiamatic to derive insights from project and issue data. Here is a step-by-step guide that you can follow to connect Jira to Axiamatic, including the permissions you need to grant and their meanings.
Prerequisites: Create a PAT
Steps to create a PAT:
Access your Atlassian profile:
In Jira or Confluence, select your profile picture (avatar) in the top-right corner of the screen.
Choose "Settings" from the dropdown menu, depending on the product.
Navigate to Security > API tokens:
Within your settings, locate and select "Security" in the top menu.
Click on Create and manage API tokens under the API token section
Generate a new token:
Click on the "Create api token" option.
NOTE: Click on Create API token and not Create API token with scopes
Provide a meaningful name for your token, indicating its purpose (e.g., "Jira API script," "Confluence integration").
Set an expiry date:
You can choose a specific expiry date for the token or, if permitted by your workspace admin, select "No expiry."
Create and copy the token:
Click the "Create" button.
The generated PAT will be displayed on the screen. Copy this token immediately and store it securely. It will only be displayed once and cannot be retrieved later.
