Integrations overview

Connect the tools your project team already uses so Axiamatic reads status straight from the source.

Overview

An integration is a connection between Axiamatic and a tool your project team already uses, such as Jira, SharePoint or Microsoft Teams. Once a tool is connected, Axiamatic reads its information on a schedule. Nobody has to copy updates from that tool into reports by hand. Only Program Admins, Org Admins and Integrations Admins can access integrations.

Why connect your tools

When a tool is connected, status comes from the source records instead of from manual updates. Everyone on the program works from the same current picture. Boards, findings and reports refresh on a schedule, so they stay up to date without anyone asking for a new export.

This also cuts down on status chasing. Teams get fewer status requests and spend less time in status meetings. Axiamatic recommends connecting every tool your team keeps project records in, because each one fills in more of the picture.

See what integrations can do

Integrations bring three kinds of information into Axiamatic. Ticketing tools bring in work items such as requirements, defects and tasks, with their status and history. File tools bring in plans, design documents and process models. Meeting and messaging tools bring in meeting transcripts and channel messages.

Axiamatic uses this information to feed your boards, your findings and the reports it generates. Findings include things like risks and late items. Messaging integrations also work in the other direction. Through Slack or Microsoft Teams, Axiamatic can send follow-up messages to team members.

The table below lists the integrations by type. Which integrations are available can vary by customer.

Use integrations in your role

PMO

PMO teams use integrations to track risks, late tickets and open decisions across every workstream in one place. This replaces chasing workstream leads for status before every weekly report.

Organizational change management

Change management teams use integrations to review meeting notes, channel messages and pulse survey responses. This shows where teams have questions or concerns. You hear about resistance early, before training and go-live plans are set.

Executives

Executives use integrations to see program health, major risks and milestones on a board that refreshes from the source records. You no longer wait for a monthly deck or wonder whether its numbers are current.

Delivery teams

Delivery teams use integrations to spot late items, missing sign-offs and stale tickets early. Axiamatic works from the tickets and documents the team already keeps. You no longer enter the same update twice, once in the ticket tool and again in a status report.

Connect a tool

To connect a new tool or check an existing connection, you need the Program Admin, Org Admin or Integrations Admin role. If you don't have one of these roles, ask someone who does. A tool's information appears on boards and in findings only after the tool is connected.

FAQ

Can I connect a tool myself?

Only if you are a Program Admin, Org Admin or Integrations Admin. Otherwise, ask someone with one of these roles.

How often does the information refresh?

Integrations refresh on a regular schedule. You do not need to request a new export.

Why don't I see a tool my team uses?

Available integrations vary by customer. Ask an admin whether your tool is available.

Why isn't a tool's information showing on my board?

The tool has to be connected first. Ask an admin to check the connection.

Which integrations can send messages?

Slack, Microsoft Teams and Google Chat. Axiamatic uses them to send follow-up messages to team members.
