Prerequisites: Generate a Personal Access Token
Before connecting Smartsheet to Axiamatic, you need to generate a Personal Access Token (PAT) from your Smartsheet account. This token allows Axiamatic to securely access your Smartsheet data on your behalf.
For instructions on how to generate one, refer to the Smartsheet guide on generating an API access token. Make sure to copy and store the token securely, as it cannot be retrieved after closing the window.
Step 1: Open Settings and Integrations
Log in to your Axiamatic account and click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner of the page. From the menu, select Program Settings, then open the Integrations tab from the left navigation bar.
Step 2: Connect to Smartsheet
On the Integrations page, locate the Smartsheet card and click Connect. A pop-up will appear asking you to select your preferred connection type.
Step 3: Choose Your Connection Type
Select how you want Axiamatic to connect across your organisation:
Shared Connection: Grants access to all current and future projects and business units in Axiamatic. Recommended for organisations seeking broad integration.
Private Connection: Limits access to the current project or account only. Each new project will require a separate connection setup.
Click Proceed once you have made your selection.
Step 4: Enter Your Smartsheet Credentials
A pop-up will appear requesting your Smartsheet credentials. Fill in the following fields:
Personal Access Token (PAT) — The access token you generated in the Prerequisites step.
Expiry Date — The expiry date associated with your token.
Click Connect to complete the integration.
Integration complete! The Smartsheet card on the Integrations page will now show a Connected status.
Next Step: Share Your Sheet URLs
Once connected, share the URLs of the Smartsheet sheets you want Axiamatic to access with your Axiamatic account team. Axiamatic will automatically retrieve and analyze data from the specified sheets to generate insights.
